Study of In-Depth Phonological Awareness and Sequencing Course 2010 PDF Print E-mail a Friend

In Aug 2010 the Association held it's third training programme in using the mouth to train phonemic awareness.  This programme was developed by Pat Lindamood and was delivered for the Association by Dr.T. W. Conway.

Forty-seven teachers took the course.  The programme was significantly funded by United Way.  Individual teachers also received scholarships from BGTT, and two teachers from the Student Support Services of the Ministry of Education also participated in the Training.

Dr. Conway was assisted by his colleague, Harris Slepian, and by five teachers who received their training through the Dyslexia Association, and who have been using the programme to teach children and adults here in Trinidad.  The teachers were, Hyacinth Guppy-Hickson, Vivia Marchock, Michelle Wyke Thomas,Tara Singh-Jaikaran and Cathryn Kelshall, all of whom donated their time and expertise to the training programme.
