Teachers' Training in 'Methods for Teaching Dyslexics' 2010 PDF Print E-mail a Friend

This three-week training programe was held in July this year.  During the
three weeks teachers are exposed to assessment measures.  They then learn a
specific and multi-sensory programme which is suitable for teaching
dyslexic children and adults.   An important part of this training
programme is the hands-on practice that teachers get under the supervision
of the course tutors. The course was delivered by Tutors trained at the
Dyslexia Institute, U.K., and by the Dyslexia Association in Trinidad.  The
tutors were Hyacinth Guppy-Hickson, Vivia Marchock,Cathryn Kelshall, Hazel
Collette-Adams and Suzanne Gregory. Substantial funding was provided by
donations from corporate Trinidad.

All course offered by the Dyslexia Association are subsidised so that they
can be offered at the most attractive price possible.
